Working with laminated paper

I was thinking some of the paintings I've done recently could look great on display plates and bowls.

Inspiration for experimentation
So I decided to make about ten laminated items to try out my ideas. Sure takes a lot of work as I add strips of paper one layer at a time on each item, then I have to wait for it to dry between applying more layers. So it's going to be around 8 days to the start of the finishing - the fun bit!

If I'm happy with the results I intend to make a series of these hand made plates and bowls in 2009.

Here's a pic of one of the paintings I did recently which has inspired this experiment. I'll post more news up with details of my first result as soon as it's finished.
