Working Artist Studios Art Adventure to France!
15/02/09 12:00
For ten days from March 1st our complete
Artists Group is heading off by car and Ferry to a
small village near Lassay les Chateaux on the
Normandy Brittany border for a week of drawing,
sketching and painting. We'll be exploring the region
including the famous Pissarro Way. We're also
connecting in with artists and art establishments of
the region. You can view
some of Pissarro's work here...
A big thanks goes to Ian McNinch who arranged the use of the beautiful house we'll be staying in.
When we arrive back we'll be holding an exhibition of the event on our premises. There are also other plans afoot to exhibit the results in Ireland and France. To be kept updated use our contact form here....
And of course we'll be putting up loads of news, pictures and video on our return, here on our web site!

Poetry Event success - Beginning of Spring Imbolc - celebration
08/02/09 20:23
Last Sunday we had a wonderful Poetry and Music Event
in our new space adjoining our downstairs galleries.
This much more spacious, almost 'mini-hall' in size
room came about through an idea by our member Ian,
who aided and abetted by Marie, managed to transform
the area into something much more fitting for events
such as the above. (A thank you from all of our Group
to both of you).
At this point I would love to add pictures of the event but we have something much better. The event was captured on video. All that is needed is to edit the 'footage' and up it'll go here on this web site. It was hoped to have it up before now but it will take a few more days as it's more time consuming than simply putting up a few pics.
Video now online - you can see it here....
It was a great evening and thanks to everyone who attended. The musicians were Paul O' Colmain and Michael Miller who also contributed their poetry, as did Bill Hogan and Eleanor Ui' Drisceoil. Marvellous! Rather than write more on the event I look forward to putting up video of the event within the next two or three days.
Thanks also go to Mary and Marie of our Artists Group for organising and supplying great drinks and food on the day and to Bill Hogan for his tasty cheese and to others who brought along food and drinks for the event. We'll certainly be holding a lot more events during the year. Keep up to date by checking back on our site or adding your name to our contact list here....
