We are delighted to announce the launch of a
new and special book by
Paul Ó Colmáin and James Harpur
on Sat 15th Nov at 5.00pm
With Newstalk morning anchor, Shane Coleman in conversation with James and Paul.
A Place Where Ireland Is Invisible

In this remarkable collaboration between two of Ireland’s finest artists,
James Harpur and Paul Ó Colmáin have produced a book of wonders, a set of poems and artworks that imaginatively restore the lives of the Irish saints. Here are pages in which the human and divine, natural and supernatural, converge and interfuse into a realm which is recognisably Irish, but also a place beyond – where Ireland is invisible.
The launch will coincide with an exhibition of the fourteen wood engravings by Paul Ó Colmáin including some other works by the artist and some of the poems, which will run until Sat. December 6th.

A Place Where Ireland Is Invisible is a collector’s item: a limited hardback 40-page edition of 400 copies, each signed by the author and artist. The book comes with a cover slip and its pages are sewn in signatures, using the finest quality paper.
Retail price: €25. Online sales: here.
In A Place Where Ireland Is Invisible James Harpur has produced ‘a rich and fresh harvest, allowing the wonder-tales of Irish saints such as Brendan and Gobnait to shine in their own depth and simplicity. Paul Ó Colmáin’s varied and fluent wood engravings are marvellously complementary, adding fresh and sometimes surprising perspectives on the narrative. This is a beautiful book.’ Paddy Bushe
‘The vision and humanity of James Harpur’s sonnets are met here in the fluent lines of Paul Ó Colmáin’s wood engravings, in this lovely, lyrical, subtle and skilful reimagining of Irish saints.’
