We are delighted to present Foreshore Act (Landscape Study) a stereoscopic video installation by Moritz Fehr on Saturday 9th March in Working Artist Studios, running between 4.00pm and 5.00pm. It considers the use and privatization of the tidal coast in Ireland and is composed of infrared images and spatial sound recordings he created during the residency.
Moritz Fehr is an independent artist, researcher and composer currently living and working in Berlin. Following a conceptual, research-based approach, he explores constellations of objectivity and emotion, technology and nature, place and time, as well as psychological and perceptual aspects of hearing and seeing. He realizes works with sound and moving images, which he often presents as site-specific installations, interventions or environments.
Fehr enters Glenkeen Garden through paths unseen. By directing his focus toward wavelengths imperceptible to the naked eye, the artist expands our spectrum of perception, exposing underlying currents that course through our surrounding environment.
This work is part of the series, Glenkeen Variations, featuring work by Fehr and sound artist and scientist, Marcus Maeder, whose work has featured previously in Working Artist Studios. The series will be in The Goethe Institut and The Glucksman and is curated by Ben Livne Weitzman.
