Working Artist Studios celebrated Culture Night 2013 elegantly, with award-winning poet, teacher, dramatist, film maker, critic & essayist, Adam Wyeth reading from his wonderful body of work. Beginning with poems from his impressive first collection, Silent Music (2011) “a debut of astonishing assurance”, Adam continued with many of his powerful new poems, which carrying on from Silent Music, exhibit his deep sensitivity, humour, insight and craft in abundance.
Musical interludes were provided by Paul Ó Colmáin & Tim Abbott, debuting some new songs. And several of the audience stepped up to the floodlights for the usual open mic session and read or performed for us. Thank you to Isobel Baldwin, Michael Ray, Breeda Murphy, Simon Lockwood, Brían Mac Aon Innéirghthe and Kevin Pendred for your beautiful and moving contributions.
