Kobus Moolman was our special guest on Friday 27th November 2015.
Born and living in South Africa, poet, playwright and teacher, Kobus was in Ireland all-too briefly and we were indeed lucky to grab him on his final night. A lovely, warm and responsive audience turned out and thoroughly enjoyed his intimate style of reading.
Kobus read from two of his seven published collections. The poetry is deeply reflective, personal and lyrical. There was music, too, from members of the house band, The Sean Gnóstics. As usual, a lively open mic session followed with our youngest ever poets reading: Lucja and Maria Pamuja Luzniak Madajczak and also young-not-exactly-quite-so-young poets, Afric McGlinchey, Michael Ray and Lothar Luken and more music from The Lockwoods. Thank you to all who came and listened, performed and added to another beautiful night in WAS. And a particular thank you to Kobus, whom we hope to see here again before long.
