Ba mhór an onóir dúinn fáilte a chur roimh Colm Breathnach, file, aistritheoir, eagarthóir is úrscealaí agus ceoltóir den scoth, ón Árainn, Pádraig Jack, i WAS i mbliana.
It wass an honour for us to welcome poet, translator, editor and novelist, Colm Breathnach to WAS and Aran Islander, musician, Pádraig Jack in November.
At 3.00 pm in Bantry Library, Colm Breathnach, Pádraig Jack and Paul Ó Colmáin presented work in Irish to a responsive and multi-national audience. Bhí filíocht agus ceol ann.
Ar 7.00 i.n. bhí léamh filíóchta (agus ceol) i Working Artist Studios, Béal an Dá Chab, le Colm Breathnach agus Paul Ó Colmáin is Tim Abbott who previewed some songs from Paul’s forthcoming album, “…agus Suantraí”, due out in the New Year. Tá saothar leis aistrithe go hocht gcinn de theangacha agus deineadh ceol a chur le dánta leis faoi Thionscadal na nAmhrán Ealaíne Gaeilge. Sa bhliain 2015 d’fhoilsigh LeabhairCOMHAR an leabhar Tírdhreacha, rogha théamúil dánta agus dánta nua maille le pictiúirí le Pól Ó Colmáin.
Colm Breathnach: Colm is a poet and novelist. He has published nine collections of poetry and the novel Con Trick “An Bhalla Bháin” (Cló Iar-Chonnacht, 2009). He has won the principle poetry prize in the annual Oireachtas Literary Competitions four times and in 1999 the Irish American Cultural Institute awarded him the ‘Butler Prize’. He has been writer in residence in Shanghai, Slovenia and Saint Patrick’s College, Drumcondra. His poetry has been translated into eight languages and he has had poems set to music under the Irish Language Art Song Project. In 2015 LeabhairComhar published the collection Tírdhreacha containing a thematic selection of poems and new poems with accompanying illustrations by Pól Ó Colmáin.
